After living with this painting for a while, I felt that I needed to do more to it to bring it to life. I re-worked it over the weekend, bringing color to their faces, but leaving the lower portion of their bodies unfinished. I more pleased with it now.

Adoration
Started and finished this one this weekend. I simply wanted to convey the bond between the sweet baby and her grandmother, who clearly adores her.
I started by painting the entire surface of the canvas with a loose mixture of black and burnt sienna to create an abstract pattern. Then painted only the relevant parts of the subjects, leaving some parts implied. The eye fills in what's missing.

In My Sketcbook
I am able to do some sketching everyday in my little sketchbook. I just pick a picture out of a magazine that will challenge me, and have fun. Here are a few that I've done recently.

Larger Than Life
I just finished this yesterday. I wanted the painting to feel like a pleasant memory in an idyllic setting.
